Peralatan radar ketenteraan berteknologi tinggi hilang

KUALA LUMPUR: Suatu penyerahan peralatan radar ketenteraan berteknologi tinggi yang bernilai jutaan ringgit dilaporkan hilang dari Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas, di Johor.Menurut laporan The Star Online, Jabatan Kastam dan Kementerian Perdagangan Antarabangsa dan Industri sedang menjalankan penyiasatan mengenai kehilangan tersebut.

Laporan yang memetik kata-kata sumber itu mendakwa sistem radar itu telah ditahan oleh pihak kastam sebaik selepas ia sampai di Australia pada bulan lepas.

Peralatan itu sepatutnya dihantar ke Belanda tetapi ia tidak mempunyai permit, dan terpaksa ditahan oleh pegawai-pegawai kastam.

Walau bagaimanapun, semasa pemeriksaan audit baru-baru ini, peralatan rahsia itu tidak dijumpai di pelabuhan tersebut.

Laporan itu berkata, pihak kastam telah menubuhkan satu pasukan khas untuk menjalankan siasatan dalaman selain menentukan sama ada prosedur operasi standard (SOP) dipatuhi.

Portal itu melaporkan, peralatan sensitif tersebut memerlukan permit di bawah Akta Perdagangan Strategik 2010 dan penalti berat seperti denda setinggi RM10 juta dan hukuman mati boleh dikenakan di bawah Akta berkenaan.

Miranda Kerr Returns Jewellery Worth Millions From Jho Low

MIRANDA KERR has returned jewellery estimated to be worth $8.1 million to the US Justice Department after prosecutors said the items were bought for her by Jho Low and stolen Malaysian government money.Kerr dated the Malaysian financier after separating from ex-husband Orlando Bloom in 2013, and prior to meeting her husband, Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel, in 2016.

From Valentine’s Day 2014 onwards, Low is said to have presented the model with a $1.29 million 11.72 carat heart-shaped diamond engraved with Kerr’s initials, a $3.8 million 8.88 carat diamond pendant, a $1.98 million pair of 11 carat diamond earrings and a matching necklace, ring and bracelet. All of these gifts are alleged to have been bought with some of the $4.5 billion Low is accused of stealing from the 1Malaysia Development Berhad fund, known as 1MD, which was created by Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak in 2009 to promote economic development.

Kerr, who has reportedy cooperated with the investigation fully, has returned the jewellery to the US Department of Justice.

"The transfer of the gifts from Ms Kerr's safe deposit box in Los Angeles to government agents was completed on last Friday afternoon," a spokesperson for the model has said.

Leonardo DiCaprio, who is also embroiled in the case against Low, has reportedly initiated the return of artwork by Picasso and Basquiat that was given to him by a Hollywood production company, Red Granite, which is connected to Low.
